What is Qard Hasan?
Qard Hasan (Arabic: القرض الحسن) is mentioned in the Quran in more than six places as an act of worship — lending money with the sincere intention of helping another person without expecting payment in return in this life.
In the Quran: “Who is he that will loan to Allah a beautiful loan, which Allah will double unto his credit and multiply many times?” (2:245)
Unlike sadaqah (charity), which is consumed, Qard Hasan capital REVOLVES. The borrower repays, and the money immediately helps the next person. Each cycle generates 19 hasanah for the original lender until the Day of Judgment.
